5/22/13

Today in class Maxwell and David were the teachers today.  They were team testosterone.  They reminded me of the consul in ancient Rome.  A manor was a large property of a plantation.  a bailiff is a is a second in control.   A serf is a servant who isn't a slave but should be.  in 1000 their was a agricultural boom.  Walls were built to keep towns in.  Their were no ancient passports.  Only four donkeys could cross the bridge at the same time.

Today in class we had a pop quiz.  I had no idea about it, but i trusted my gut.  I got an one hundred and I didn't even study.  Natural instinct is the best way to study.

5/14/13

Today in class we took a test.  I have to say it was a little difficult, but i pulled through.  I liked how we were able to come up with the question ourselves.  I do feel that you didn't use any of mine.  If you would of used mine it would of been a great benefit to all.

Monday, May 13, 2013

5/13/13

Today in Class  we had to create questions for the test.  I don't believe that you will use other people questions.  You most likely will just use mine because they are amazing questions and probably challenging to some.

5/10/13

Today in Class the tables were turned.  Grace and Kelly went off and thought us every thing about Constantinople   They also talked about The Four Edicts.  I think that I should be the teacher next time and I will tell you the story of life and how to make the world a better place. I will save all.

5/7/13

Today in Class we got back our tests.  Of course I got a 100%  #Smart.  Then we learned about Jesus.  Is this religion class I don't think so.  I already have to spend class learning about Jesus.  Now I have to learn about him twice in one day.  Its not even my religion soooo whats up with that.

Monday, May 6, 2013

5/6/13

Today in Class we handed in our paper that was amazing.  Then we had to take a surprise test.  I got a solid 100 % as usual.    After that we had to read about 9 paragraphs out of the book about Jesus and Rome religion,  but I thought this we West Civ not religion class.  So it confused me a little bit.

5/1/13

Today in class we learned about Julius Ceases   He was a dictator, but in my mind was a good one.  He took over Rome in a very sneaky way.  If I was him I would take over the world with that power.  Now we got Octavian and he is the most amazing man ever.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

4/30/13

Today in class we continued the movie.  I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I was completely wrong.  It doesn't feel like this ever happened because it is way more dramatic then real life seems.  I couldn't beleive that they would kill the Gracuss Brothers.

Monday, April 29, 2013

4/29/13

Today in class we started a video/movie on ancient Rome   Apparently we only get to see 1 out of 6 parts of it.  That is very depressing to me.  But in this one part we watched the first 6 chapters.  The are life changing and I now know the history of the Roman revolution.  I am so pumped for the rest of this movie.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

4/24/13

Today in class we took a quest.  Apparently it is a combination of a quiz and a test.  It wasn't to difficult but some questions challenged me.  like how many people were in the senate.  in my defense that wasn't in the rap.  So how would I of known it.

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

4/23/13

today in class we continued the dissociation on the lyrics.  we got deeper into the Punic Wars.  The conversation we had was amazing about how countries get there names.  You said i was off topic but it had to do with Rome soooo.

Monday, April 22, 2013

4/22/13

Today in class we went over the lyrics to the song again.  We found out about the Punic wars.  there were three and Rome won all three.  And we found out that Hannibal came up from the the alps and tried to to take over Rome and it failed and the city of Carthage was over.

To be able to describe the life and love of Rome.  It is a very difficult and we only got half way done.  But no worries because I got my team on my back.

Today in class we talked about the Peloponnese War.  We went over how if they would of had different plans they could of taking over Sparta.  If they wouldn't of tried to talk over Sparta they would be in a much better place.  They could of gotten to the moon in a thousand years.  Not to shabby if you ask me.

3/18/13

Hellenistic- refers to the "international" period of Greek history, when much of the Mediterranean and southwestern Asia was under Greek rule.

358 B.C.- King of Macedonia, Philip the Second came to power and takes control of Greece.

Athens lost the war to Sparta due to the way the Greek leaders tried to fight.  They shouldn't of tried to fight the Spartans in the first place.  They were not to big of a threat in the first place. The were struck by a terrible plague and one fourth of Athens died.  When all of the people of Athens were close together and they became sick.  With out them having a lot of space between them the disease spread quickly.  It was a bad way to fight the Spartans becasue with all the men in the sea they could attack by land.  In the end The Greeks lost to the Spartans and the way of life the Greeks new was over.

Saturday, March 9, 2013

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Today in class we continued the endless video on the Greeks.  I am starting to believe that this movie will never end.  I'm enjoying the movie, but I just wonder how much information can one put into a movie.  Not too shabby if you ask me.  I have to say my notes are pretty nice and right on accurate.

Saturday, February 23, 2013

Next time you should let me present and it will be a fun time.

Friday, February 15, 2013

Today was a rather short class, but we got a lot done.  In class we got our test and i got an 97% on it .  Not to shabby if you ask me.  Then we went over the test and got a copy of the test and we got to keep the paper to study for exams.  Thank you my master teacher.  Then Grace got yelled at and then we had to get into our groups and talked about our power points.

Thursday, February 14, 2013

2/13/13

Today in class you were absent.  It hurt my feelings that you were not present to see us work on our power points.  We had a sub and she was rather nice and treated us well.  We found out you were creeping on our power point and I was pretty sketchy.  Pretty shabby if you ask me. Then you commented a comment that was either nice or mean, I found it mean, you said its about time you got some work done.  I am sad.

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

2/12/13

Today was a pretty fun.  We didn't have that much to do except for finish up our power points.  My group is pretty intense with me, Grace, Kelly  and Savannah   It would of been better if Julia would have joined our group, but she felt bad for Holly and joined her group.  Pretty shabby if you ask me.  Our power point was pretty nice, but we had to add some pics.  My favorite pic was of the barbarian man.  He was beautiful.

Monday, February 11, 2013

2/11/13

Today in class we talked about STONEHENGE and the Greeks.  We took multiple pages of notes.  The discussion we had about Stonehenge got pretty intense.  We found out that what happened there was almost impossible how they built it with there tools.  They used it for religious ceremonies   It worked as a calendar and was orientated north and south.  There has been belief that aliens built this.  That is what i believe and what is what you should believe too.   I like the thought of aliens they are not to shabby.

Greece Homework

Greece was one of the newer ancient civilizations.  The Greeks were made up of ancient people called barbarians.  A barbarian is a person that lives a life around farming, warfare, and tribal organization.  Most of the barbarians began showing up in Europe around the time of 2500 B.C. Then around 2000 B.C. the Greeks started to migrate to  Asia Minor.  They were the earliest form of the Greeks. The Greeks inhabited there art, architect  and way of life from the older civilizations.  The newest ancient Greeks formed around 800 B.C.  The Greeks started worshiping gods, building monuments, and settling in to city-states and tribes with in them.  Little tribes started to form around the bigger city and branched out farther and populated and kept expanding.  The Greeks had there own language and writing the people spoke.  The Greeks became one of the most powerful civilizations in the ancient times.

Today in class we talked about daily life in Ancient Egypt.  We found out about the pyramid of social power starting as pharaohs at the top and slaves at the bottom.   Then we watched an other John Green Crash Course video on Ancient Egypt.  He was very wrong about somethings in the video.  He said that the Nile river flowed north to south when it flows south to north.  He has some explaining to do.  I am very sad and emotional now.  Not too shabby on my part.

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

2/5/13

Today in class we played a very intense video game called Pyramid Challenge.  Lets just say it was the most intense game I have ever played.  I have never experienced anything so intense in my life.  I sweated probably two gallons of water.  I am still dripping three hours later.  In this game you have to decide many different things such as: where you will build the  pyramid, what angle, what god your building it for, and ect.  The hardest part was trying to drive the boat.  Me and Julia where a team and came in 3rd place and got a bronze metal, not too shabby if you ask me.

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

1/23/13

Today in class we re-watched parts of the video on Agriculture revolution.  We took notes on the video.  We also talked about how in the future of how schooling will be.  Also what we wanted to be in the future.   What classes we had to take to be successful in our careers.

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

1/22/13

Today in class we watched a video about the agriculture revolution.  The video was by John Green and his video's crash course.  His theories we'er similar as Jared Diamonds.  Mostly he talked about how fast of a switch from looking for food to going to McDonald's to buy some food of minim wage.  In over 19,000 years we have become far more advanced then our past selves in only a short period of time.

Monday, January 21, 2013

Was Jared Diamond on track with his theory of "geographic luck"?

Jared Diamond was on track with his theory of geographic luck.  He was on track because he had all of the right details about what makes a place geographically lucky.  Such as the different types of animals and plants it takes to be able to have a successful village.  In the book they talk about how in the prehistoric era, everyone one was a hunter and gatherer.  The roles that men and women were equal in power.  The men would go out and hunt.  The women would gather the plants, berries and other foods.  Making them have equal roles.  As time went on and people started settling down and forming a village the men started farming so the women wouldn’t have to spend all of their time collecting food and gave them a chance to try different things.  This led to the invention of many different things and tools.  This is exactly what Jared Diamond said about how the people of Europe were able to have guns, germs, and steel.

1/18/13

Today was our first day of Western Civilization.  We created our new blogs for class.  Also how to access your blog on Google chrome.  We also received our textbooks for class.  I need to go get a composition book for class.   Mr. Schick also yelled at Grace often for talking to much.
